Uplights - Indirect Office Lighting - Sheds Soft, Effective Ambient Light

Uplights that can be wall mounted or set on top of the surface of a shelf or overhead compartment. Establishing an up light onto a wall in your office or on the top surface of overhead compartments allows their upturned illumination to bounce off the ceiling. This, and the high performance specular reflector, aids the distribution of soft indirect light over a work area. The Marigold ambient light featured here includes fluorescent T8 tri-phosphor lamps set within a die-formed 22-gauge steel housing with 16-gauge ends. Both the wall and shelf mount comes in your choice of two or four bulb versions and provide you a color selection.

Indirect office lighting over your office work area. The uplight shelf mount (SM) is configured with rubber feet which provide stabilization on the surface area. That model is not to be confused with overhead task lighting, in which the lamps are hung beneath bin shelving compartments, with bulbs concentrated downwards. The wall connecting model (WM) includes side mount bracket hardware. By knowing the dimensions you wish to fit these lamps within, it's easy to gauge their suitability: all models are 13"d x 2-1/2"h with only five lengths from which to select. Indirect office lighting offers quality features for office settings. These lamps are all UL, CUL, and CSA Listed. They're configured with a right-hand cord exit for the 9' black cord that has a 90° plug with a right hand exit point. A black, two position switch is set on the same side of the fixture as the cord exit. Strong steel housing with high performance electronic ballast and reflector as well as a T8 fluorescent high output bulbs serve you well.

This lighting uses high power factor electronic ballasts. In the U.S., most fluorescent lights use electronic ballasts, at least for new commercial lighting due to their energy efficiency. Ballasts obtain the necessary circuit conditions for starting and operating your lamp, such as voltage, current, and wave form. The HPF ballasts included in this unit's design fulfill its energy efficiency reputation as well as elimination of flickering and cooler operation.

Color Rendering Index of 75. The T8 tri-phosphor 3500k fluorescent lamps offer an average life span of 20,000 hours of service, and they are up to 20% more efficient when compared to standard T8 bulbs. Their Color Rendering Index (CRI) is 75 (on a scale of 100), which, for many office uses is satisfactory, though the CRI is not as color true as a lamp using high output T5 fluorescent bulbs (boasting a CRI of 85).
