Installing porcelain steel resurfacing skins onto older boards or as wall covering. The adhesive backing  on our 24 gauge steel porcelain skins means that no extra adhesives are required. That also translates into installation cost savings.

Installing 1/4" Porcelain Steel Panels. Use these sheets that are permanently laminated onto a moisture resistant, 1/4" thick MDF core in partitions, cubicles, or for resurfacing existing chalkboards or dry erase board surfaces. Panel adhesive is required.

1) All resurfacing mediums require you to measure the old board surface area accurately.

2) All new installs require you to thoroughly clean the old surface. Test fit the new panel.

3) Porcelain skin install requires board and skin be sprayed with alcohol and water solution

3A) To install the 1/4" porcelain panels, however, at this point apply adhesive to back in egg-sized globs every 12" to 16" apart in uneven rows. Then align panel over old surface; press firmly into position using roller.

4) For porcelain skin install, just peel away self-adhesive caking, align the skin, and apply to old surface.

5) All these skins and panels require applying even pressure over the entire surface as soon as they are installed.

6) Remove protective film coating that was placed on writing surface to protect it during shipping.

Dry erase board and chalkboard resurfacing. Follow all instructions that come with your porcelain skins or panels. Installation instructions assume a smooth surface. White board wall covering methodology follows the same procedures. Textured or porous areas may require different consideration or method. Contact us for information. See Chalkboard and White board Resurfacing, Pt. I for product information and pricing.
